Hi, When choosing a collar for your dog I would suggest getting one that is strong and also wide. This is to enable good support for your dog around the neck area. The thin collars do not offer that especially if a dog pulls heavily it can hurt their vertebrae, so go for a wide strong collar.

Dog training requires a lot of different types of collars, but leather are one of the nicest collars for a trained dog. Before training a leather collar can be tough because of the pulling, but after a dog learns to heel, leather is great.
